People in the community are talking about us – they are thankful for our influence! :)

Dear Family,

It’s been an amazing week!  The work really is making an impact.  We went to see a man we met months ago named Len, who wasn’t interested but talked to us before about some people who might be ready to receive a Christian message.  He told us how he’d been noticing lots of people in the community talking about us and being thankful for our visits and influence.  Woohoo!  Then we happened to run into a lady we had met tracting.  She completely turned her life around since we met her.  At the time, she told us she wasn’t ready to start being spiritual again, but after we prayed with her, she started praying and going to a neighborhood church.  She told us that we must have cursed her when we prayed with her because of all the hard trials that came around right after.  We helped her recognize that when we try to get closer to God, Satan is always going to attempt to stop us.

Friday we had our Zone Meeting.  It had to be the rowdiest group gathering on my mission.  Everyone knows each other too well!

We went to Eden’s for dinner and talked to her more about reading the Book of Mormon.  She’s read up to Alma 25.  We tried to figure out why she is continuing to read and she dropped a few big hints.  We asked her if she felt the spirit of the book.  She said, “yes, very much so.  I feel the spirit of the book.”  We asked how she felt about it and she told us she wouldn’t be reading it still if there wasn’t something about it, and God hasn’t told her to stop reading yet.  We took that as some good signs.  It’s difficult to ask her about it since she is so into her current religion.

The last couple of days have been fantastic.  We’re out riding bikes every day in the sunshine.  It’s been getting up to 50 degrees!  That’s practically tropical weather! We had a neat experience talking to a neighbor one day.  We shared a little bit about the Book of Mormon and read her a verse.  She told us the scripture was perfect for her!  She talked about how she could feel the love coming from us.  We gave her the book and she mentioned right away the “energy” of the book she felt.  We volunteered to come help her with yard work in a few weeks.  Her name is Deardry.

That same day we headed out to tract a street we felt especially directed to visit and had the impression that we needed to see Shirley.  The setting was perfect!  It was bright and sunny and a weekend so she’d be home.  We had a wonderful lesson.  She’s blown away by the news of Jesus Christ’s Gospel being restored wholly and completely.  She wants to be baptized.

The work is going tremendously well.  Transfer calls are coming incredibly quick.  I’m praying to stay in Canada for a little longer!

Love you so much everyone!

Love,

Elder Kenny Call
